John Goodhue

John is a patent and trademark attorney and a founder at Goodhue, Coleman & Owens, P.C. With a computer engineering degree and practicing IP law since 2000, he helps clients protect their innovations and manage intellectual property risks, including those related to AI technologies. He has authored several books including “Protecting Innovation: The Corporate Innovator’s Guide to Patents,” “Mark It Up: The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Trademarks,” and “Law Prompts: Large Language Models for Lawyers.” John actively integrates AI into his own practice to enhance internal processes and client service. His has authored academic papers on use AI in the law available on SSRN, and regularly shares practical insights through articles on Medium and Substack. His AI projects have earned recognition in hackathon competitions, and he launched a SaaS platform to accompany his Law Prompts book to help other lawyers leverage AI.
