Code of Conduct

EntreFEST Code of Conduct

EntreFEST is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, including panelists, sponsors, presenters, and attendees. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. All communications should be appropriate for a professional audience. We thank our attendees for their help in keeping the event welcoming, respectful, and friendly to all participants.

Expected Behavior

We invite all sponsors, volunteers, speakers, attendees and other participants to help us realize a safe and positive conference experience for everyone. Accordingly, all attendees are expected to show respect and courtesy to panelists, sponsors, and other attendees throughout the conference and at all conference events, whether or not officially hosted by EntreFEST or NewBoCo.

  • Be considerate and respectful when asking questions of panelists and speaking to conference attendees.
  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.
  • Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants. Alert conference staff if you notice a dangerous situation, see someone in distress, or have any concerns.

Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behaviors include: intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning conduct by any attendees or panelists at EntreFEST and related events. Many EntreFEST venues are shared with members of the public; please be respectful to all patrons of these locations. Harassment includes but is not limited to: offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability, inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces (including presentation slides), deliberate intimidation, stalking or following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, and inappropriate physical contact and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

While healthy, participatory discourse is encouraged, we will not tolerate abusive, badgering, or baiting arguments, where during a session or otherwise. Disrupting the presentation of any individual will be grounds for immediate dismissal. Attendees violating these rules may be asked to leave the conference without a refund at the sole discretion of the conference organizers.

Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated whether by other attendees, media, speakers, volunteers, organizers, venue staff, sponsors, or exhibitors.

Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately.

If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including expulsion from the conference without warning or refund.

What to do if You are a Witness or are Subject to Unacceptable Behavior

If you are subject to unacceptable behavior, notice that someone else is being subject to unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please notify event staff as soon as possible. Event staff can be identified by T-shirts/staff badges onsite. You are also encouraged to contact the EntreFEST Staff at events@entrefest.com. Any report of harassment at one of our events will be addressed immediately and all reports will remain as confidential as possible.

The EntreFEST team will be available to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, to provide escorts, or to otherwise assist those experiencing unacceptable behavior. You can report unacceptable behavior to any member of the staff. Staff can be found at headquarters, any conference venue, or you may email events@entrefest.com.

Scope

We expect all conference participants (sponsors, volunteers, speakers, attendees, and other guests) to abide by this code of conduct at all conference venues and conference-related social events.

Thank you for helping make this a welcoming, friendly event for all.

Jill Wilkins, Event Director
