Bio
Scott is a proud graduate of the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business and College of Law. His first job after graduation was at a large law firm in Minneapolis. Eventually, Scott rejoined Big Grove in Iowa City, where he previously worked during college, to become their General Counsel and Lead Brewer. In 2019, he and his wife moved to Des Moines to open Lua Brewing, which is now ranked as one of the fifty best breweries in the world. Scott is now CEO of HYFR Hospitality. In 2023, HYFR purchased a property on Des Moines’s west side and launched its second location, Either/Or Eatery & Patio. That same year, Scott launched Climbing Kites, which is one of the beverage industry’s fastest growing brands. Scott serves on several nonprofit boards and was President of the Iowa Brewers Guild from 2019-2024. He currently lives in Urbandale with his wife and three kids.
