About

Heather Sitzmore

I remember when my son was in middle school I used to always send my cookies in his lunch. He began to get orders and notes put into his locker. “I’ll pay any amount for a dozen of your mom’s cookies!”. He started to get so many that he was called into the principal’s office and told he couldn’t run a business on school grounds. That is when I decided to start my own business. Using a 100 year old family recipe for sugar cookies, and baking from my home,I started going to farmers markets in the area. Since I was based in Coralville, alot of our customers worked at the University. I started getting requests to sell at the hospital and on campus. I contacted the university and was brought in as a vendor. That was 10 years ago. During covid I was able to expand my business due to the demands at the hospitals. During that time I was also featured on an episode of Campus Eats on the Big Ten Network. The combination of those events allowed me to move into a commercial kitchen in Coralville in 2021. Our cookies are now available in 55 retail locations in the Iowa City /Cedar Rapids Corridor, Amana Colonies and the Quad Cities. We also provide cookies for special events and opened an Etsy shop in 2024 to make nationwide shipping available for our customers.
